Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be an incoming first-year or transfer undergraduate student.
  4. Must plan to attend McMurry University.
  5. Must enroll full time.
  6. Must be a resident of a state other than Texas.
  7. Must attend a college or university in Texas.

Description: This scholarship is open to first-year and transfer students who plan to attend McMurry University in Texas. Students must reside in a state other than Texas; awards are based on financial need.

Application requirements for the McMurry University Out-of-State Grant are:

  • ACT/SAT scores (if under 22)
  • $25 app. fee
  • FAFSA
Additional Information: The Financial Aid Office reserves the right to replace institutional grants and scholarships with other gift aid sources in the same amounts, in order to maximize limited resources. Please note that the total amount of gift aid awarded will not be reduced. McMurry based scholarship/awards will not exceed the cost of tuition. Military awards cannot be stacked with Freshman or Transfer Scholarship/awards.

Award Amount: Up to $3,000 annually, renewable until degree completion.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,000.

Scholarship information is available online on the McMurry University website. Students must apply for admission to McMurry University to be considered for this scholarship. A separate scholarship application is not required. Admissions information is available online at admissions.mcm.edu. All students must submit the Texas Common Application. In addition to the application, each student must submit the following materials: a $25 application fee; an official and complete set of transcripts from each college or university attended, if a transfer student; an official high school transcript, if a first-year student or he/she has fewer than 24 transferable credits; and ACT and/or SAT scores (if under the age of 22). Applications must be submitted by March 15 for priority consideration. Please note: Because this award is based on financial need, all students must file a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) for award consideration. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices.
