Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of one of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas panhandle.
  3. Must attend Amarillo College or West Texas A&M University.
  4. Must exhibit integrity, thriftiness, ambition, good moral character, and a sincere desire to achieve a higher level of education in the field of nursing.
  5. Must enroll as a full-time student.
  6. Must be currently enrolled in an Associate of Applied Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (in his/her junior or senior year) or a Masters of Science program.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  8. Must maintain a 2.5 grade point average.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Current college juniors or seniors majoring in nursing full time at Amarillo College or Texas A&M University are eligible for this award. Students must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher in college and be residents of one of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas panhandle.

Application requirements for the Nancy Gerald Memorial Nursing Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • IRS 1040 Form
  • ACT/SAT scores
Additional Information: The Nancy Gerald Memorial Nursing Scholarship was established by the family of Nancy Gerald to honor her memory. Applicants should exhibit financial need, integrity, thriftiness, ambition, good moral character and a sincere desire to achieve a higher level of education in the field of nursing. The recipient is selected by the local scholarship committee.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.
