  2. Must attend an eligible, public in-state college or university in Texas.
  3. Must be a high school senior or older.
  4. Must demonstrate financial need.

Application requirements for the Texas Public Educational Grant (TPEG) are:

  • FAFSA
Additional Information: The purpose of this program is to provide grant assistance to students with financial need. Eligible students must demonstrate financial need and register for the Selective Service or be exempt from this requirement. Public colleges or universities in Texas make TPEG awards from their own resources. Only in-state (Texas) public colleges or universities may participate in the program. Each institution may set its own priorities in making awards.

Award Amount: No individual award may be more than the student's financial need. Each institution set its own maximum award amount. Students should contact his/her institution for additional details.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,231.
