In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a single custodial parent with dependent children.
  4. Must be an undergraduate student.
  5. Must be approved for admission and enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire.

Description: U.S. single custodial parents with dependent children who are enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire are eligible for this award. All applicants must demonstrate financial need; preference will be given to returning female students.

Additional Information: Preference is given to female returning students. Eligible applicants must be in good academic standing with the potential for academic and career success and must demonstrate financial need not met by traditional forms of financial assistance. Notifications of the award determinations will be sent to award recipients only.

Award Amount: The award amount varies annually.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $750.

Applications are available online from the University of Wisconsin (UW)-Eau Claire website. The student must be accepted and enrolled at UW-Eau Claire prior to applying for this award. The applicant must submit only one 'Single Parent Scholarship Application'; he/she will be considered for each scholarship he/she is eligible for. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit responses to the three essay questions listed within the application. Students must also have a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) on file with the UW-Eau Claire financial aid office. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Applications may be submitted via the online application form or to the Non-Traditional Student Services Office by the deadline date.
