Number of Awards & Eligibility: More than 50% of Yale's undergraduate students receive need-based aid through the school's financial aid department programs.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be accepted to and attend Yale University.
  2. Must be an undergraduate student during the financial aid award years.

Description: Yale University's Financial Aid Program is designed to make attendance affordable for students of all income ranges. Accepted undergraduate students will receive need-based grants and scholarships designed to eliminate all reliance on student loans and outside funding sources.

Additional Information: Financial aid at Yale University is provided based on each student's individual financial need. It is the goal of Yale and Yale's administrators that all qualified and accepted students are able to attend with minimal consideration to costs.

Award Amount: The average award during the prior academic year was approximately $52,800. All awards are renewable for all four years of undergraduate study so long as the student remains in good academic standing. Students who come from households earning less than $65,000 are not expected to contribute to the costs of tuition and housing.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $52,800.

Please note: Students must be accepted for admission to Yale University's undergraduate program prior to apply for financial aid. All eligible, enrolled students will be considered for need-based assistance provided that the financial aid application is completed by the March 1 deadline. To apply for admissions at Yale University, applicants must complete one of the following application forms: the Coalition Application; the Common Application; or the QuestBridge National College Match Application. All submissions must include the Yale-specific materials. Early Action and QuestBridge applications are due on November 1. The final deadline for admissions consideration is January 2.
