Number of Awards & Eligibility: One annual scholarship of around $7,000
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be Female.
  2. Must be Jewish, show evidence of consistently practicing the Jewish principles of tzedakah and tikkun olam.
  3. Must be high school seniors or graduates who are beginning their first year of an undergraduate program at a four-year college or university in California.
  4. Must demonstrated academic excellence with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
  5. Must have involvement in athletics.
  6. Must be permanent residence is in the greater San Francisco Bay Area, which includes San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano, Marin, Napa, and Sonoma Counties.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Application requirements for the Gail Karp Orgell Scholarship are:

  • Official Transcript
  • Residency requirement and a record of community involvement.
Additional Information: The Federation provides scholarships for students to attend undergraduate or graduate programs at accredited nonprofit colleges or universities. Scholarships are granted based on both merit and financial need and are intended to be “last resort” funding to supplement student and family contributions, as well as other financial aid, grants, and awards.

Award Amount: The winner of the Gail Karp Orgell Scholarship will receive $7000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,000.
