Today, it isn’t uncommon to see women attending colleges and universities right alongside men, but that wasn’t always the case. There’s been great progress in bridging the gap between equal rights of men and women — but we still have a ways to go. Women typically still earn less and are less-frequently found in leadership positions than men. Today’s woman is pursuing a career — and often taking care of her family at the same time. Turner Construction Scholarship

This award is for female U.S. college sophomores who are SWE members and majoring in civil engineering, construction management engineering, and mechanical engineering. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

SWE Mid-Hudson Section Scholarship

This scholarship is open to female college sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students who are studying engineering or computer science. Students who reside and attend school in New York (zip codes 124, 125, 126) are given preference.

Members-At-Large Re-Entry Award

This scholarship is available for U.S. women who have returned to higher education after an absence of at least three years. Applicants must be majoring in chemistry and must demonstrate academic potential.

This scholarship is available for female students majoring in public relations and related fields. Applicants must demonstrate achievement and leadership in women's issues and women's studies.

Minnesota State University-Mankato Mary Jane Young Undergraduate Scholarship for Re-Entry Women

This scholarship is available for current female undergraduate students at Minnesota State University, Mankato, who are 25 years of age or older and have completed 30 semester credits or transfer credits at time of application. Students must be single parents who have physical custody of children or married women re-entering college who have delayed their own education for 10 or more years to raise a family.

Cottey College Regional Leadership Achievement Award Program

This scholarship is available for U.S. female high school seniors who reside in Barton, Bates, Cedar, Dade, St. Clair, or Vernon counties in Missouri, or Bourbon County in Kansas and are planning to attend Cottey College Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and an ACT score of 23 or higher or an SAT score of 1060 or higher.

Miami Dade College Alexa Sophia Kaufman Scholarship

U.S. undergraduate students who are female and attending Miami Dade College, Hialeah Campus are eligible for this award. Students must plan to transfer to Miami Dade College Medical Campus and enroll in a health services program.

Best Value Schools STEM Scholarship for Women

This scholarship is available for female U.S. students who are majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics at the undergraduate level. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and an SAT score of 1100 or higher.

Judith McManus Price Scholarship

U.S. female undergraduate or graduate planning students intending to pursue careers as practicing planners in the public sector are eligible for this award. Students must be African-American, Hispanic-American, or Native American.

Women in Public Finance Scholarship

U.S. graduating high school senior females who have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible for this award. Students must have an interest in pursuing a public finance related career in finance, government, nonprofits, or law.

The Jill Pomroy Reed Scholarship is available to women who are planning a career in marketing in the plumbing, HVAC or electrical industries.

Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation Scholarship

This award is for U.S. women 17 years of age or older, with minor children that planned to be enrolled in a skills training, ESL, or GED program; or pursuing a technical/vocational degree, an associate's degree, a first bachelor's degree, or a professional/master's/doctoral degree. Applicants must be of low-income with an annual family income less than $17,500 for a family of 2; $22,000 for a family of 3; $26,500 for a family of 4.
