In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be female.
  3. Must be working toward flight training, either: a first-time pilot's license, a jet-type pilot rating, or emergency maneuver classes.

Description: The Amelia Earhart Memorial Flight Training Scholarship is available for U.S. women who are seeking instruction as a pilot. Awards can be used to pusue an initial pilot license, jet-type rating, or emergency maneuver training.

Application requirements for the Amelia Earhart Memorial Flight Training Scholarships are:

Additional Information: Established in 1940 to help deserving members to further accomplishments, today the Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarship Fund provides the Amelia Earhart Memorial Scholarships for licensed pilot members to advance in training and education in aviation and aerospace, including scholarships to complete additional pilot certificates and ratings, jet type ratings, college degrees, technical training and an Emergency Maneuver Training Scholarship established in memory of 99 member Vicki Cruse. The Amelia Earhart Memorial Flight Training Scholarships were created to assist students to complete an additional pilot certificate or rating or pilot training course, complete type rating certification in any jet aircraft, or emergency maneuver and spin training in addition to an introduction to aerobatics.

Award Amount: $20,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $60,000.

Each student who is a member of a Ninety-Nines chapter or section must submit their application to the respective chapter or section's scholarship chair. Members-at-large must submit applications to the International President.All applications and supporting documentation must be submitted to the student's section or chapter no later than January 1.
