$2,000 annually, non-renewable. This amount may change each year. The award is disbursed over two terms.
The number of awards offered varies annually. There will be 133 awards given this year.
The Jeannette Rankin Foundation (JRF) raises funds for and awards scholarships annually to women 35 years of age and older who through undergraduate or vocational education are seeking to better themselves, their families, and their communities. In working toward these ends, JRF continues the legacy of Jeannette Rankin, the first woman elected to Congress and a proponent of peace and women's and children's rights. In addition to the meeting the eligibility requirements, the JRF also takes the following into consideration: realistic goals and the ability to accomplish these goals, individual courage in dealing with difficult situations, the information provided in the letters of recommendation, and the thoughtfulness with which the personal statement has been prepared. The JRF awards are not open to students who already have a degree at the bachelor's level or above.
Applications will be available on the Jeannette Rankin Foundation (JRF) website from November through March. Interested students can also send a self-addressed stamped envelope to the address shown on ... sign up for full scholarship deadline information.
