Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a female.
  4. Must attend an accredited college or university in Pennsylvania.
  5. Must be a resident of Dauphin or Cumberland counties in Pennsylvania.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher.
  7. Must complete 15 or more credits toward an undergraduate degree by the end of the spring term of the current year.
  8. Must be enrolled full time as a student in the fall term of the current year.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. women who have earned 15 or more credit hours toward a bachelor's degree with a 3.25 grade point average are eligible for this award. Students must be residents of Dauphin or Cumberland counties in Pennsylvania and must attend a Pennsylvania institution.

Additional Information: All applicants must demonstrate financial need. The AAUW Scholarship Committee may interview finalists as part of the selection process. The awardee will be honored at the branch luncheon in September. The scholarship recipient may also receive Branch support to attend the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online from the American Association of University Women (AAUW)-Harrisburg Branch website. Each student must submit the following materials: a completed application; an official transcript through the current spring term; a financial aid form (must be completed by the appropriate official at her institution); a verification of enrollment form (must be completed by the appropriate official at her institution); an essay of no more than one page that is limited to 300 words addressing the topic listed on the application; and two personal references, one of which must be academic (must use the reference forms included with the application). Applications and supporting materials must be mailed to the address provided and be received by the deadline.
