Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be planning to enroll in a degree-seeking program or certification program (including GED) at Boise State University or College of Western Idaho.
  4. Must be enrolling in nine or more credits per semester.
  5. Must be a female.
  6. Must be a single mother.
  7. Must reside in Idaho.
  8. Must be a non-traditional student as defined by the Idaho Community Foundation. The student must meet one or more of the following criteria: student is 24 years or older; student is not enrolling in postsecondary education in the same calendar year as he/she finished high school; student may be attending or have attended college on a part-time basis; student works part or full time; student is considered financially independent from parents; student is a single parent; student may not have received high school diploma.

Additional Information: All applicants must demonstrate financial need. Prior history of substance abuse will not be a disqualifier. Preference may be given to veterans.

Award Amount: The award amount varies annually. Awards are non-renewable, but previous recipients may reapply.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,600.

Applications are available on the Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) website. Please note: The student may apply for all scholarships for which she is qualified; however, a separate application and supplemental materials must be submitted for each scholarship. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: five one-page essays addressing the topics listed on the application; a copy of her most recent high school transcript, report card, or unofficial/uncertified college transcript; a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid); and three letters of recommendation, only one of which may be from a family member. Applications must be emailed to the address provided by the deadline date.
