In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a female.
  4. Must attend Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, a women only college.
  5. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  6. Must have an outstanding record of scholarship and co-curricular achievement in high school and demonstrate noteworthy leadership skills.
  7. Must attend college in Massachusetts.

Description: U.S. women planning to attend Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts are eligible for this award. Students must demonstrate a record of outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement as well as evidence of leadership potential.

Additional Information: As an institution that values the highest levels of academic excellence and the cultivation of women leaders, Mount Holyoke is pleased to offer a limited number of merit scholarships awarded competitively to first-year candidates who have an outstanding record of scholarship and co-curricular achievement in high school and who demonstrate noteworthy leadership skills. Awards are given without regard to financial need.

Award Amount: $25,000 annually, renewable for up to three years as long as the student remains enrolled full time and in good academic standing. Each recipient will also receive funding for an internship and admission to a first-year honors tutorial with a distinguished faculty member.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $100,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the Mount Holyoke College website. There is not a separate application for this award. Each student is considered upon admission. A completed application includes the Mount Holyoke College Common Application Supplement and Common Application. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit a $60 application fee; school report; mid-year school report; two teacher evaluation forms; and ACT/SAT scores. The application fee is waived for online applications. Applications must be submitted by the deadline date.
