Number of Awards & Eligibility: One scholarship is being awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a female.
  2. Must be a graduate or undergraduate student.
  3. Must be a pursuing a degree in communications, media, or journalism.

Description: The Alliance for Women in Media was formed in 1951, originally as American Women in Radio and Television, the women’s division of the National Association of Broadcasters. This scholarship was created in 2015 through a partnership with NCTA- The Internet & Television Association. NCTA is the principal trade group for the internet and television industry, representing cable operators, content providers, and affiliated vendors.

Application requirements for the NCTA & AWMF Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: This scholarship is open to any female student attending an accredited university or college in the United States. The AWMF/NCTA- The Internet and Television Association Scholarship allows one deserving female communications/media undergraduate or graduate student to create an original piece (essay, digital short, video, animation or other concept chosen by the student) that will be featured in NCTA and AWMF media distribution channels. In addition, the chosen student will receive a scholarship to their educational institution for $5,000 and a ticket to attend the Gracies Leadership Awards in the Fall of 2020.

Award Amount: The winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
