Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a student pilot who will have soloed by the application deadline.
  4. Must be a female.
  5. Must reside in a 99 mile radius of the Reno Tahoe International Airport.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Application requirements for the Reno High Sierra Chapter Ninety-Nines Private Pilot License Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Student pilot/medical certificate
  • logbook endorsement
  • last two pages of logbook
  • Essays (9)
Additional Information: An applicant may not have received this award in the previous year.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available online from the Reno High Sierra 99s website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit a copy of his/her valid student pilot and medical certificate, logbook endorsement with proof of completed solo flight in any category of aircraft, the last two pages of his/her logbook, and responses to the nine questions within the application. An original plus four copies of each document must be submitted Applications and supporting materials must be received by the deadline date.
