In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be be a high school senior and enrolling at a university or college for fall term 2020.
  2. Must pursue an engineering degree at a university or college with an ABET accredited engineering program.
  3. Must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0.
  4. Must be a woman or other underrepresented gender in engineering and technology.
  5. Must attend high school in Michigan.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Applicants must submit a one page (single or double spaced, your choice) essay on the following topic: "Why do you want to be an engineer and how this scholarship would help you."

Additional Information: The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Detroit Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to Michigan women admitted to accredited baccalaureate programs, in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science. this scholarship is being offered for women who are Michigan high school seniors with a passion for the engineering field. Applicants must be pursuing an engineering degree at a university or college with an ABET accredited engineering program. Winners are announced in May. Additional details can be found on provider site.

Award Amount: up to $1,000 scholarships will be distributed.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
