Description: The Institute for Shipboard Education (ISE) at Colorado State university offers a $10,000 scholarship for students attending historically black colleges and universities (HBCU’s) or Predominately Black Institutions to participate in spring or fall Semester at Sea voyages.

Additional Information: The Institute for Shipboard Education (ISE) is pleased to offer a $10,000 scholarship for students attending historically black colleges and universities (HBCU’s) or Predominately Black Institutions to participate in spring or fall Semester at Sea voyages. All participants receive a full semester’s worth of undergraduate credits from Colorado State University. ISE believes that international exposure is a critical element in today’s undergraduate education, offering students a real-life global education experience that will give them an edge in this highly competitive job market. To be eligible for the scholarship, you must: Maintain full-time undergraduate enrollment at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) or Predominately Black Institution (PBI) Demonstrated leadership through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities Voyage Leadership: During the voyage, HBCU Scholars will be expected to serve as ambassadors for Semester at Sea. This entails posting pictures and video reflections of their experience on social media, participating in the Vicarious Voyage and Diversity Peer Mentor Programs and involvement with student affinity groups. resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

Award Amount: Up to $10,000 award.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.
