Number of Awards & Eligibility: All eligible students will be considered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be an incoming first-time freshman.
  2. Must have a UNF recalculated grade point average of 3.6 or higher.
  3. Must have an SAT score of 1360 or higher OR an ACT score of 28 or higher.
  4. This award is for U.S students.
  5. Must attend the University of North Florida.
  6. Must be eligible for a Florida Bright Futures scholarship. Detailed information on eligibility for the scholarship is available on the Florida Office of Student Financial Assistance website at www.floridastudentfinancialaid.org/ssfad/bf/.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  8. Must perform at least 75 hours of community service (required for Florida Bright Futures eligibility).

Description: This award is available to U.S students who are planning to attend the University of North Florida as freshmen and are eligible for a Florida Bright Futures scholarship. Students must have a UNF recalculated grade point average of 3.6 or higher and a SAT score of 1360 or higher or an ACT score of 28 or higher.

Additional Information: Students receiving an automatic merit-based scholarship (like the Presidential award) will be considered for competitive merit-based scholarships on an upgrade basis only. Their awards will not be combined for a total higher value. Instead, they will keep the award that provides the highest scholarship amount. Students are only eligible to receive one UNF merit-based scholarship. However, students who have already received an automatic scholarship can submit an application to be considered for a possible scholarship upgrade. Scholarship decisions will be mailed Feb. 2. Current and transfer students are not eligible to receive this scholarship.
