Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two scholarships will be provided each year. One award will be offered during each semester's application deadline.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or optometry program, or planning to enroll within the next six months.

Description: The Nicholas A. Pennipede Memorial Scholarship is available for graduating high school seniors, undergraduate students, and optometry students who submit an original essay in response to the topics detailed at the provider website.

Application requirements for the Nicholas A. Pennipede Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Transcript
  • Proof of acceptance or enrollment
Additional Information: The Nicholas A. Pennipede Memorial Scholarship is available for current undergraduate students as well as students who plan to enroll in an accredited college or university or optometry program during the next six months. Award selection will be based primarily on essay responses, with additional consideration given to academic standing. By applying, students grant the provider the right to contact his or her university to confirm enrollment or acceptance, as well as the right to use submitted essays and application materials for marketing and promotional purposes.

Award Amount: Scholarships are awarded in the amount of $1,000 and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Application forms and additional information about the Nicholas A. Pennipede Memorial Scholarship are available online and may be accessed using the provided links. To be considered for this award, students must submit an essay of between 500 and 800 words in length that addresses all of the questions and topic prompts outlined on the scholarship information page.
