Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually, one for the fall semester and one for the spring semester.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be 18 years of age or older.
  4. Must be a current high school senior or be a current first-year student enrolled at a college or university.

Description: This essay contest is open to U.S. citizens who are 18 years of age or older. Students must be high school seniors or current first-year students enrolled at a college or university.

Application requirements for the Abrahamson & Uiterwyk Scholarship Essay Contest are:

Additional Information: The essays will be judged based on originality, style, grammar, and accuracy. Judges will look for essays that are original and easy to understand as well as being organized in a logical manner that is supported with evidence. The winner will be selected on August 14.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable. The winner of the scholarship contest will receive a check from Abrahamson & Uiterwyk that will be written to the school where he/she is registered to attend. The award money must be used to pay for tuition and/or expenses related to school.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.

Applications are available online on the Abrahamson & Uiterwyk website. In addition to a completed application form, the student must write an essay of 500 to 750 words on the topic described at the provider website. Detailed information on what must be included in the essay is also included on the scholarship website. Only one essay per student is allowed to be entered. The application and essay must be scanned and emailed to the address provided. The subject line must be "Scholarship Contest Essay". No applications will be accepted through postal mail. Applications must be submitted by the current deadline date. Please note that this scholarship is offered on a semi-annual basis for both the fall and spring semesters.
