  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be enrolled in a college or university between August and May.

Description: This award is for high school or college students that write an essay and plan to be enrolled in a college or university.

Application requirements for the Embrace Tutoring College Essay Contest are:

Additional Information: The winners of this award will be based on vates gathered from visitors to the Embrace Tutoring website. All visitors to Embrace’s website will be able to vote on submitted essays. Only one vote per essay, per site user is allowed. The essays with the highest total number of votes will be selected as recipient winners. Applicants are encouraged to utilize all forms of social media to promote their essay.

Award Amount: $1,000 to the first place winner, $500 to the second place winner, $250 to the third place winner. All awards are offered annually and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $583.

The application deadline date has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected to remain the same as last year. The deadline date shown here is tentative based on last year's date. Please check back in November for a refreshed application deadline date. Additional information can be found on the Embrace Tutoring and Educational Services website. To apply, students must write an essay of 500 words or less that answers the question: "What do you wish your teachers knew about you and why?" The essay, along with the students' name, email, school, address, and phone number must be submitted through the online form and must be received by 12:00 a.m. CDT on the deadline date.
