Number of Awards & Eligibility: Four scholarships will be provided
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must identify as LGBTQ or have a history as an active ally.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduate student or current undergraduate student who has completed at least two years of study.
  4. Must be majoring in social work, community policy, law, education, or any other relative field addressing social justice issues.

Description: The Freidin Brown, P.A. & SAVE Social Justice Scholarships are available for LGBTQ students and allies who have completed at least two years of undergraduate study.

Application requirements for the Freidin Brown, P.A. & SAVE Social Justice Scholarships are:

  • Essay
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: The Freidin Brown, P.A. & SAVE Social Justice Scholarships is provided to LGBTQ and allied students who have completed at least two years of college studies. All applicants must have a proven record of leadership, volunteering, and participation in the LGBTQ community or another social justice organization. Award selection will be based on a combination of academic achievements as well as contributions to communities facing discrimination and other challenges.

Award Amount: One $10,000 first-place prize will be awarded as well as three $5,000 scholarships. All awards are provided on a one-time basis and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,250.

Applications and instructions for the Freidin Brown, P.A. & SAVE Social Justice Scholarships are available online using the provided links. To be considered for this scholarship, students must complete the online application form and submit the following supporting documents: up to date transcripts; proof of financial need; a personal statement of up to 500 words in length; and an essay of up to 1000 words in length in response to one of the listed topic prompts. All applications and supporting materials must be received online no later than the deadline date.
