Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a resident of Virginia.
  4. Must hold an active dental hygiene license and a baccalauareate degree or higher.
  5. Must be pursuing a graduate degree in dental hygiene or accredited degree studies related to the professional roles of a dental hygienist. Please note: Students who are graduating in the 2015-2016 academic year are not eligible to apply for this scholarship. Students must be enrolled for the 2016-2017 academic year.
  6. Must be a professional member or student member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association (ADHA).

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to Virginia residents who are pursuing graduate degrees in dental hygiene or accredited degree studies related to the professional roles of a dental hygienist. Students must demonstrate financial need of $1,500 or more, and must be professional or student members of the ADHA.

Additional Information: This scholarship is funded by the Virginia Dental Hygienists' Association Foundation to honor their deceased colleague and benefactor who enabled establishment of the VDHA Foundation. For all non-merit-based awards (i.e., those without the word "merit" in the name of the award), the student must have a financial need of $1,500 or more and must electronically sign the application attesting to such need. Scholarships are awarded based on how well the applicant demonstrates the goal or achievement of the scholarship for which he/she applies. Recipients are announced on July 1.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,500.
