American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) Institute for Oral Health

Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
  3. Must be pursuing a graduate degree in dental hygiene.
  4. Must be a professional or student member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA).
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  6. Must be a member of the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society.
  7. Must hold an active dental hygiene license and a baccalaureate degree.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Graduate students with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher who are pursuing a degree in dental hygiene are eligible for this award. Applicants must be student or professional members of the American Dental Hygienist's Association (ADHA) and members of the Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society.

Application requirements for the Sigma Phi Alpha Graduate Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Awarded to an outstanding student pursuing a Graduate degree in dental hygiene or related field that is a potential future Sigma Phi Alpha member or a current member in good standing.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online from the ADHA Institute for Oral Health website. The application must be completed online. Mailed applications will not be accepted. Please note: Each student may only apply for one scholarship offered by the ADHA Institute. The student should submit an application for the scholarship for which he/she is most qualified As part of the application, the student must prepare a statement describing his/her long-term career goals, his/her intended contribution to the dental hygiene profession, his/her professional interests, and how his/her extracurricular activities and degree enhance the attainment of his/her goals. In addition to the student application, the student must request completion of faculty evaluation and program director sections. These sections must be completed online by the appropriate school personnel. ADHA Institute staff recommends that the student allow three to four weeks for completion of these sections. All applications must be received electronically by the ADHA Institute no later than the deadline date.
