Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.
  3. Must possess an active general class or higher amateur radio license.
  4. Must reside in the West Virginia Section area.
  5. Must attend an accredited postsecondary institution located in the West Virginia Section area.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Description: This award is open to international and U.S. licensed radio amateurs (general class or higher) who are residents of and attending school in West Virginia. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications are available on the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Foundation website. Applications must be completed online. Students need only submit one application for all scholarships for which they are eligible. The student must provide contact information for one educational reference, one character reference, and one social reference on the online application. The student must also submit a copy of his/her academic transcript from his/her most recently completed school year to the email address provided. The transcript must be scanned and submitted as a PDF. Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. EST on December 31. Transcripts must be received by January 13.
