Cynthia E. Morgan Scholarship Fund

Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a current resident of the state of Maryland.
  3. Must be the first person in his/her immediate family who will be attending a Maryland accredited postsecondary school. 'Immediate family' is defined as consisting of direct family lineage, such as brothers/sisters, mothers/fathers, and grandparents on either mother's or father's side.
  4. Must be planning to enter a medical or medical-related field.
  5. Must be currently enrolled in a Maryland high school and be planning to attend a Maryland college or university OR be currently attending a Maryland college or university.
  6. Must be a high school junior or senior, or be currently attending (or planning to attend) an accredited postsecondary school to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Current high school juniors or older students attending or planning to attend a Maryland college or university to pursue a career in a medical or medical-related field are eligible for this award. Students must be Maryland residents.

Additional Information: The winner will be notified via mail by mid-March. The winner is encouraged, but not required, to attend the fund's annual Bull and Oyster Roast. The winner and one guest will each receive a free ticket to the event. Tickets are $30 each, and the winner's friends and family are welcome to attend. Event information will accompany the award letter.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. The scholarship MUST be used on valid school-related expenses. These include, but are not limited to, tuition, fees, books, or supplies. The student MUST provide proof of attendance at an accredited postsecondary institution, and must provide proof of fees incurred before being awarded the scholarship monies.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
