In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have a blood clotting disorder.
  3. Must enroll full time.
  4. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.

Description: This scholarship is available for undergraduate and graduate students with a bleeding disorder who are attending or accepted to an accredited postsecondary institution in the U.S.

Application requirements for the Eric Delson Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Personal statements (2)
  • Recommendation letter
  • Official Transcript
  • Activities resume
Additional Information: Recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, potential to succeed, leadership, participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of educational and career goals, unusual personal and family circumstances, and recommendations.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, renewable for up to three years. Recipients must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher for the freshman year and a 3.0 or higher for subsequent years to be eligible for renewal.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications can be downloaded on the Caremark website by clicking on the 'Eric Delson Memorial Scholarship' link. The application includes the following: a listing of the applicant's work experience, activities, awards and honors; a brief personal statement of educational goals and career aspirations; a statement detailing an unusual circumstances that may have affected the applicant's achievement in school and other areas; and the applicant's appraisal, completed by a high school or college counselor. Additionally, a copy of the student's most recent transcripts must be included with the printed application form. Students currently or previously enrolled in college or vocational-technical school must include all college or vo-tech transcripts of grades from each school attended. High school seniors and students who have completed less than one full quarter or semester of postsecondary education must include a high school transcript and include documentation clearly explaining the high school's grading scale. Any submissions postmarked after the deadline date are late and will not be considered.
