Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.
  3. Must major in public relations.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must be a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA).
  6. Must be a high school graduate or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.

Description: This award is available for U.S. students who are members of the Public Relations Society of America. Applicants must have unmet financial need and must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The scholarship is available to all PRSSA members who demonstrate financial need for the pursuit of higher education in the public relations field. Applications will be reviewed by those who knew Mr. Yoshimura best. Applicants will be notified in early April.

Award Amount: $2,400 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,400.

Applications are available on the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must submit the following materials: an official transcript; a letter of recommendation from an internship supervisor, employer, or faculty adviser; a 1,000-word essay of two pages or less that describes a challenge he/she has faced, personally or professionally, and how he/she has overcome it; and a statement of intent and financial need. All completed applications with the required documentation must be submitted online by the deadline date.
