Number of Awards & Eligibility: At least one award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must plan to enroll or be enrolled in an eligible graduate program.
  4. Must be pursuing advanced studies in agribusiness that support the potato industry.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. graduate students who are pursuing advanced studies in agribusiness which enhance the potato industry. Each year, NPC awards a $10,000 academic scholarship to one graduate-level student conducting research for the benefit of the potato industry.

Additional Information: Final scholarship selection is based on the following criteria: past academic achievement, leadership abilities and potato-related areas of graduate study. Scholarships will be awarded in August.

Award Amount: $10,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications are available online on the National Potato Council (NPC) website by clicking on the 'Scholarship Program' link under the 'Programs' tab. Submissions will be accepted between May 1 and the deadline date.In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following: a statement of 200 words or less explaining how his/her goals and ambitions qualify him/her for this scholarship, including a specification of his/her graduate program and how it benefits the U.S. potato industry; transcripts of his/her undergraduate and graduate (if any) work; a resume, if available; a list of activities which demonstrate citizenship, service to society, and leadership qualities, noting level of participation and offices held (if applicable); a list of the names and contact information for two adults that may be contacted as references if he/she becomes a finalist; and an optional letter of recommendation from one of his/her references. The application and all completed materials must be submitted to the address provided, and be received by the deadline date.
