Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and depends on the amount of funds available to be disbursed. Please note: A minimum of three scholarships are awarded annually, one for incoming freshmen, one for existing students, and one for either.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher if a high school senior OR have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher if a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student.
  3. Must plan to attend or be currently attending Florida State University.
  4. Must be a resident of Clay County, FL, OR be a high school senior graduating from a high school in Clay County, OR be the child of a current member of the Seminole Club of Clay County (parent must have been a member for at least 24 months prior to application).
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.
  7. Must be enrolled or plan to enroll as a full-time, degree-seeking student.
  8. Must plan to attend a college or university in Florida.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for residents of Clay County, Florida attending Florida State University, or children of members of the Seminole Club of Clay County, or students attending a high school in Clay County who plan to attend or are currently attending Florida State University. High school seniors must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher; currently enrolled college students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the Seminole Club of Clay County/FSU Leonard Voyles Scholarship are:

  • Application form

  • Community service verification
Additional Information: Scholarship selection criteria are based on the following: 60 percent, academic; 20 percent, extracurricular activities; and 20 percent, community service. The applicant's FSU legacy status is not considered in the selection process.

Award Amount: The monetary award amount varies according to the availability of funds. The scholarship is a minimum of $750 annually, non-renewable. Students may reapply each year that they meet the eligibility requirements and reach the next class level.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $750.

Applications are available online on the Seminole Club of Clay County website. The student may also obtain an application by writing to the address provided. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit an official transcript and community service verification, in a written form or certification from the agency/organization. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted online by the deadline date.
