Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.
  5. Must graduate from Albuquerque High School in New Mexico.
  6. Must pursue a bachelors degree in a STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) major. Priority will be given to those pursuing engineering-related careers.
  7. Must demonstrate financial need.

Description: High school seniors graduating from Albuquerque High School in New Mexico who have a grade point average of 3.6 or higher are eligible for this award. Students must enroll in a STEM major and demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: The Barnes W. Rose, Jr. and Eva Rose Nickol Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 in memory of Mr. Rose and in honor of Eva. Barnes was a 1951 graduate of Albuquerque High School and a 1957 graduate of West Point. Eva is a longtime New Mexico resident.

Award Amount: $800 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $800.
