Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately 20 scholarships per year
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Colorado. The applicant must have resided in Colorado for 12 consecutive months immediately preceding application.
  3. Must attend an educational institution of higher learning or vocational training that is both located and accredited in Colorado.
  4. Must be a female.
  5. Must be 25 years of age or older.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  7. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  8. Must be currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate studies.

Description: This scholarship is intended for U.S. female students who are 25 years of age and older and enrolled in an accredited Colorado college or university. The applicant must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher to be eligible for this award.

Additional Information: The applicant must demonstrate financial need, scholastic ability, leadership skills, and career goals. Notifications will be sent following the board of trustees' meeting, which typically takes place four to six weeks following the application deadline.

Award Amount: 1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $20,000.

Applications are available on the Colorado Business and Professional Women's Education Foundation (CBPWEF) website. In addition to the completed application, the applicant must submit: a copy of her most recent IRS Form 1040; a statement of acceptance and schedule of fees with authorized signature (mailed separately); a recent transcript with signature and grade point average (mailed separately); a one-page essay of her educational and career goals; proof of Colorado residency; proof of U.S. citizenship; and two letters of recommendation (mailed separately). The completed application and all supporting materials should be sent to the Colorado BPW Education Foundation with attention to the scholarship committee using the address provided. Applications must be postmarked by one of two deadlines each year: May 31 (for fall semester) and Oct. 31 (for spring semester).
