Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards varies each year based on funding. Last year, 25 awards were given.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be currently attending or enrolled at a dental school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must be a second-year dental school student.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: College juniors currently enrolled or accepted into a dental school accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The ADA Foundation promotes and broadens access to excellence in dental education by supporting lifelong learning through various grants, fellowships and awards. Through the ADA Foundation scholarship program, students can pursue careers in dentistry, dental hygiene, dental assisting and dental laboratory technology. Applicants must demonstrate a financial need of $2,500 or more. Notification of scholarship awards will be made in the fall.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

The Allied Dental Student Scholarship Program will not be offered this year. Please check back in fall 2018 for additional information about possible future awards. Applications are disbursed by school officials. Each student must contact the associate dean for student affairs/program director or financial aid officer at his/her school to request a scholarship application. Application forms must be typed or printed in black ink, completed and signed by school officials. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit two completed reference forms, sealed and noted on the back of the envelopes by the referrers and a typed, biographical sketch questionnaire. The school officials will select the top two students as eligible applicants, as the ADA Foundation will only accept two applications per scholarship from each school.
