Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student.
  4. Must attend Columbia College of Missouri.
  5. Must be classified as a veteran (no longer serving and honorably discharged), active duty military, Guard, or Reserve.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students at Columbia College of Missouri who are veterans, active duty military, Guard, or Reserve. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Application requirements for the Columbia College of Missouri Colonel Mike Randerson Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The endowed scholarship was established in 2014 by Columbia, Missouri, native and friend of the college, Mary McCleary Posner, chair of the Columbia Memorial Salute to Veterans organization. All applicants will be notified of the selection committee's decision by way of letter by April 30.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. The award is split between August, October, January, and March sessions in academic year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the Columbia College of Missouri website. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: if a veteran, a copy of his/her DD214 showing honorable discharge status; if currently serving, a statement of service signed by the commander for active duty, Guard and Reserves members; an essay of up to 500 words describing his/her personal circumstances and how education is, has, or is expected to make a difference in his/her life; and two references from individuals who can attest to his/her personal and professional goals and accomplishments. Applications must be mailed to the address provided, and must be received by 5:00 p.m. CST on the deadline date.
