Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must reside in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, or Ventura counties in California.
  4. Must be pursuing a degree in nursing.
  5. Must be accepted to or enrolled in an eligible degree program. Some units toward the degree are preferred, but not required.
  6. Must attend a college or university in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, or Ventura counties in California.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. students who are accepted or enrolled in a degree program in nursing. Students must reside and attend college/university in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, or Ventura counties in California.

Application requirements for the June Miller Nursing Education Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Applicants for this award are also eligible for the Inger-Lawrence-M.R. Bauer Foundation Nursing Studies Scholarship. The highly competitive selection criteria include the ability to articulate a clear statement of goals, the likelihood of goal attainment, the personal courage and personal commitment of the applicant, and the financial need.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available online from the National Council of Jewish Women - Los Angeles Chapter website. Please note: Applications are accepted from Feb. 1 through May 1 and from Aug. 1 through Nov. 1. Each applicant may apply for up to two awards in each application cycle using one application. In addition to the completed application the applicant must submit the following materials: two letters of recommendation, preferrably from teachers and/or employers; a personal statement of one to two pages in length; school transcripts; and current enrollment verification from his/her institution. Applications and supporting materials must be received during the appropriate application period.
