Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a current undergraduate student or older to apply for this undergraduate and/or graduate award.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.3 or higher.
  5. Must have the intention to enter the game industry as a developer of interactive entertainment. There is no required major. Possible career paths include (but are not limited to) executive leadership, law, marketing, public relations, and business development.

Additional Information: The Mark Beaumont Scholarship Fund has been established to support students who are pursuing careers specializing in the business of interactive entertainment. Possible career paths include (but are not limited to) executive leadership, law, marketing, public relations, and business development.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable. The recipient must be able to provide documentation showing the deposit of scholarship funds to his/her educational institution, as well as his/her most recent transcript. If unable to do so, he/she will forfeit the scholarship and must return the funds within six weeks of written notice. Winners may not re-apply for subsequent Mark Beaumont Scholarships.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available online from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences website. In addition to the completed application, the applicant must submit verification of enrollment, a two-page personal statement discussing the listed topics, two signed letters of recommendation, his/her most recent transcript, and contact information for his/her university. Applications must be submitted online by the deadline.
