Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately one scholarship is award to a qualified graduate student.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be majoring in water law, water policy or public administration with a demonstrated concentration in the field of water resources.
  2. Must be pursuing a graduate degree.

Description: The Stephen K. Hall ACWA Water Law and Policy Scholarship awards is available for a qualified graduate student attending an accredited, public or private U.S. college pursuing a graduate degree (Master’s, PhD, or Law School) in water law, water policy or public administration with a demonstrated concentration in the field of water resources.

Additional Information: Stephen K. Hall ACWA Water Law & Policy Scholarship Program provides awards to a qualified graduate student attending an accredited, public or private U.S. pursuing a graduate degree (Master’s, PhD, or Law School) in water law, water policy or public administration with a demonstrated concentration in the field of water resources. students must be a full-time enrollment (8 semester units or 10 quarter units) for the entire academic year. ACWA is the largest California coalition of public water agencies in the country. They have over 430 public agency members who together are responsible for 90% of the water delivered to cities, farms and businesses in California. Each year through the Stephen K. Hall ACWA Water Law & Policy Scholarship Program, ACWA awards one scholarship to a qualified graduate student. Beginning with the 2019-’20 scholarship cycle, the annual scholarship amount was increased to $10,000.

Award Amount: The grant value is up to $10,000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications must be submitted electronically. Applicants must submit at least three current letters of recommendation, with at least one of the letters originating from a college professor or employer. They must also submit official transcripts for each college they have attended and an essay responding to specific prompt (no more than 1,000 words).
