Number of Awards & Eligibility: At the start of academic year 2014–2015, the TEACH program was making awards at approximately 800 institutions.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must fill out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and demonstrate financial need.
  2. Must intend to become a teacher in a high-need field or shortage area.
  3. Must be enrolled as an undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, or graduate student at a school that participates in a TEACH Grant-eligible Program.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: A TEACH grant awards $4,000 per year to students studying in an eligible program. Students must also agree to teach in a high-need field as a certified teacher. They must commit to teach in this field for at least four years. There is also required counseling to complete before receiving a TEACH Grant.

Additional Information: Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant gives each year a type of federal financial aid that is not based on need. It awards $4,000 per year to students studying in an eligible program. Students must also agree to teach in a high-need field as a certified teacher. They must commit to teach in this field for at least four years. Each student signs a service agreement to this effect. There is also required counseling to complete before receiving a TEACH Grant. apllicant must be enrolled as an undergraduate, postbaccalaureate, or graduate student at a school that participates in a TEACH Grant-eligible Program. Receiving a TEACH Grant is a commitment. If you withdraw from the program you are receiving the grant for, it nulls the contract. You will then have to pay back the money.

Award Amount: The TEACH Grant Program provides grants of up to $3,752 a year to students who are completing or plan to complete course work needed to begin a career in teaching.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,001,600.
