Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards provided varies annually, depending on the number of qualified students who apply.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a Scandinavian student studying in Kansas City, or a student from Kansas City planning to study in Scandinavia.
  2. Must be currently enrolled in K-12 at the time of application.
  3. This award is for U.S. and international students.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  5. Must attend a college or university in Kansas City or Scandinavia.

Additional Information: The Harley and Geneva Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund, K-12 is provided annually for Kansas Cirty area students who are planning to study in a Scandinavian Country, as well as students from Scandinavian Countries who are planning to study in the Greater Kansas City metro area. Applicants must be in good academic standing and must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. This award is managed and administered through the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, a local area charity founded in 1978 with the mission of providing assistance and centralized resources for decentralized charitable causes and giving. Award Amount: Award amounts vary depending on the availability of funding and the selected recipients' financial need. A minimum of $1,000 will be provided to each recipient. Funds will be paid out in equal installments during the fall and spring semester and may be used for educational expenses such as tuition, room and board, books, and other academic fees.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

The online application form and additional information about the Harley and Geneva Anderson Memorial Scholarship Fund, K-12 is available online at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF) website. To be considered for this award, eligible students must complete the online application form and submit a short personal statement/essay in regards to the topics posted on the application form. Students must also provide the names and contact information for three references who can speak to the applicant's character, academic potential, and community involvement. All completed applications must be received online no later than the deadline date.
