Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university.
  3. Must possess an active amateur radio license (any class).
  4. Must have a high school grade point average of 3.7 or higher.
  5. Must have an aggregate family household income of $100,000 or less.

Additional Information: The Bill, W2ONV, and Ann Salerno Memorial Scholarship is designed to assist licensed radio amateurs who have excellent high school grades and limited financial resources. Recipients are typically notified by mid-May by USPS mail and email.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Recipients may be awarded this scholarship only once.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Applications are available on the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Foundation website. Applications must be completed online. Students need only submit one application for all scholarships for which they are eligible. The student must provide contact information for one educational reference, one character reference, and one social reference on the online application. The student must also submit a copy of his/her academic transcript from his/her most recently completed school year to the email address provided. The transcript must be scanned and submitted as a PDF. Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. EST on December 31. Transcripts must be received by January 13.
