In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior or current undergraduate student at the time of application.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must attend Clemson University.
  5. Must plan to attend a college or university in South Carolina.
  6. Preference is given to students expressing interest in politics, business, economics, history and/or philosophy.

Description: This scholarship is available to incoming freshman and sophomore students who are attending Clemson University and planning to pursue a major in politics, business, economics, history and/or philosophy.

Additional Information: The Lyceum Scholars Academic Program has been designed as a comprehensive academic program dedicated to exploring the moral, political, and economic foundations of a free society. Students who participate in the program will be required to take a specific Lyceum study class each semester they are enrolled at Clemson, and will also receive access to personal tutoring, academic enrichment, and other forms of support.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, renewable for up to three additional years so long as the student remains in good standing and maintains a grade point average of 3.4 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,500.

Information about and applications for this scholarship are available online at the Clemson University Lyceum Scholars Program website. To apply for this award, applicants must also apply to and be accepted to Clemson University. In addition, students must complete the application to participate in the Lyceum Scholars Program. All applications must be completed online. All applications completed before Dec. 1 will be considered for enrollment in the Lyceum Scholars Program, and applications received after Dec. 1 and before May 1 will be considered for as long as funding and space remains available.
