Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident to apply.
  3. Must be a high school senior, current undergraduate or graduate student, or plan to enroll this fall.
  4. Must plan to enroll full-time.
  5. Must be under a physician's care for a spinal cord injury, spina bifida, transverse myelitis, or neurogenic bladder.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Ron Howell Caregiver Scholarship is awarded to one student for $1000. This opportunity is offered to legal U.S. Citizens seeking a two-year, four-year, or graduate school program full time in the fall. There is no specific GPA guideline. Medical students are not eligible to apply.

Application requirements for the 180 Medical Caregiver Scholarship are:

  • Medical documentation
  • College acceptance letter
Additional Information: To be considered for the Caregiver Scholarship, students must submit a completed application, most recent transcript, typed essay or video, and document confirming acceptance or continuation of enrollment. Winners will be announced August 1, 2020.

Award Amount: $1,000 offered.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available beginning January 1 on the provider's webiste. Students must submit all documentation, including a copy of their official trascript, a physician's note stating their diagnosis, a copy of their college acceptance letter or current enrollment verification, with their application. Students must also submit an essay (750 words or less) addressing one of the three essay topics provided. Students may send their application packet by mail (postmarked by June 1) or by email. All materials must be submitted by the deadline date.
