Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or a Canadian citizen.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be the dependent of a medically retired, long-term disabled, or deceased ALPA member.
  5. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate award.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. or Canadian undergraduate students who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Students must be the dependent of a medically retired, long-term disabled, or deceased ALPA member. Incoming freshmen should submit the application after the 1st semester of that senior year.

Additional Information: This scholarship program is for sons or daughters of medically retired, long-term disabled or deceased pilot members of the Air Line Pilots Association. Although the program envisions selection of a student enrolling as a college freshman, eligible individuals who are already enrolled in college may also apply. The student must be enrolled in a program of study principally creditable toward a bachelor's degree.

Award Amount: $3,000 each year  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,000.

Applications and further information about this award can be obtained by contacting Yvonne Willits using the listed address. Applications and related secondary school performance documentation must be received no later than April 1 of the year for which college entrance is planned. A high school senior should not submit an application prior to his/her senior year in high school, and it is preferred that he/she submit the application after the first semester of that senior year. An applicant who has been enrolled in college must submit a copy of all college courses and course grades received to date in addition to the application and required high school performance data.
