Number of Awards & Eligibility: Four awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a resident of Hawaii.
  4. Must plan to attend an accredited four-year college or university as a full-time student (12 credits per semester for undergraduate; 9 credits per semester for graduate).
  5. Must demonstrate academic achievement with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  6. Must major in veterinary science.
  7. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for Hawaii undergraduate and graduate students who are majoring in veterinary science. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The Allan Eldin & Agnes Sutorik Geiger Scholarship Fund was created in 2005, by the Agnes Sutorik Geiger Revocable Trust. The purpose of the fund is to provide scholarships to qualifying students attending accredited colleges and/or universities studying veterinary science. All applicants for this award must demonstrate financial need and good moral character. Recipients will be notified after the scholarship selection committees meet, which could be any time between May and August.

Award Amount: Approximately $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

Online application forms are now available on the Hawai'i Community Foundation website. The student should visit the Hawai'i Community Foundation's website for detailed instructions on how to complete the online application. In addition to the online application form, the student must submit the following supporting materials: the printed confirmation page that is generated after applying online; a typed, double-spaced personal statement of two to three pages answering the questions listed on the website; an official copy of his/her most recent transcript; and a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report). The SAR is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Note: Students WILL NOT be able to submit their application until all required supporting documents are electronically attached to the application. Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. HST.
