Description: The Alvie C. Jeffres Memorial Scholarship Fund is available for graduating high school seniors in Bonner County, Idaho.

Application requirements for the Alvie C. Jeffres Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Personal statement
Additional Information: The Alvie C. Jeffres Memorial Scholarship Fund is provided annually to a resident of Bonner County, Idaho who demonstrates a high level of determination toward the goal of higher education. Selection will be based on strength of character, community involvement, academic success, personal history, and personal goals.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the Idaho Community Foundation website. Please note: The student may apply for all scholarships for which he/she is qualified; however, a separate application and supplemental materials must be submitted for each scholarship. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: one-page essays addressing the topics listed on the application; a copy of his/her most recent high school transcript, report card, or unofficial/uncertified college transcript; two letters of recommendation; and an additional short essay (one page or less) describing a challenge he/she has faced in his/her life and how he/she handled it. Applications must be turned in to the counselor’s office at Sandpoint High School or submitted to the office at First Baptist Church by the deadline date.
