Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  3. Must attend a high school in Pinellas County, Florida.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  5. Must reside in a foster care home.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for U.S. students who are currently graduating high school seniors in a Pinellas County high school. Applicants must reside in St. Petersburg Florida, and must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Preference will be given to students who live in a foster care home.

Additional Information: This scholarship is funded by the Junior League of St. Peterburg, and preference will be given to a local area student who resides in a foster care home.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications and information about this award are available online at the Pinellas Education Foundation website using the link provided. To be considered for this award, students must complete an online application form consisting of 12 steps. Completed applications will include information about the following items: the student's academic record; participation in community, service, and extracurricular activities; financial need as detailed in the Student Aid Report obtained by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); information about subjects the student is interested in through a list of prospective majors; as well as the names of any colleges or universities the student has applied to or been accepted to. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. All applications must be completed online by the deadline date.
