Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  2. Must demonstrate a personal connection to American Indian culture and traditions, as well as evidence of personal commitment to celebrating diversity and to bridging differences between disparate groups.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must be a graduating high school senior about to enter college.
  5. Must be planning to attend the College of William and Mary.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The Anne Trevarthen Memorial Scholarship is a one-time scholarship. It will be presented each April to a high-school senior who will be attending the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia. Eligible applicants must demonstrate a personal connection to American Indian culture and traditions.

Application requirements for the Anne Trevarthen Memorial Scholarship are:

  • Official Transcript
  • Recommendation letter (3)
  • Letter
  • Proof of American Indian bloodline
  • Application form
Additional Information: The amount of the scholarship is based on the annual return of the endowment, and may vary year to year. General Eligibility Requirements include: Applicants must be citizens of the United States to apply for a scholarship offered by the DAR Scholarship Committee. Applicants must also attend or plan to attend an accredited college or university in the United States. DAR chapter sponsorship is not required. But, applicants may want to reach out to a DAR chapter in their area for help with their applications.

Award Amount: The amount offered varies.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
