Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior or current undergraduate student.
  4. Must be attending or planning to attend a public or private two- or four-year college or university in the state of Idaho.
  5. Must enroll full time.
  6. Must be majoring or planning to major in fire ecology or auto mechanics OR be a current Wildland firefighter who is majoring in any subject.
  7. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors and undergraduate students who major in fire ecology or auto mechanics at a college or university in Idaho, or who are current Wildland firefighters majoring in any subject. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Award Amount: The award amount varies annually. Awards are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,600.

Applications are available on the Idaho Community Foundation website. Please note: The student may apply for all scholarships for which he/she is qualified; however, a separate application and supplemental materials must be submitted for each scholarship. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: five one-page essays addressing the topics listed on the application; a copy of his/her most recent high school transcript, report card, or unofficial/uncertified college transcript; two letters of recommendation; and an additional short essay (one page or less) describing a challenge he/she has faced in his/her life and how he/she handled it. The student may not use staples or binders for any part of the application. Applications must be typed. Applications must be emailed to the address provided by the deadline date.
