Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. and international students studying in the U.S.
  2. Must be a member of the Asian American Architects and Engineers Foundation. Student membership is available for $8 per year.
  3. Must be majoring in architecture, engineering, urban design, or a related field.
  4. Must be a full time high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student at the time of application.

Description: The Asian American Architects and Engineers Foundation Scholarship is available for Asian American students who are majoring in architecture, urban planning & design, or engineering.

Application requirements for the Asian American Architects and Engineers Foundation Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Recommendation letter
  • Resume
Additional Information: Award recipients will be required to attend the annual awards banquet at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel Los Angeles, 506 South Grand Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90071 on October 3, 2019. Recipients will also be required to participate in and film a short video segment that will be shown during the banquet. All travel and lodging expenses are the responsibility of the award recipient. Students who submit an application for this scholarship may also apply for consideration for an internship with businesses in South California who have partnered with the Asian American Architects and Engineers Foundation.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications and additional information can be found online at the Asian American Architects and Engineers Foundation website. To be considered for this award, students must complete the online application form and submit the following supplemental documents: a personal statement of no longer than one page; two letters of recommendation from academic or professional references who are familiar with the student's work; a recently updated one-page resume; and a sample of completed or proposed work accompanied by an essay of no more than three pages describing the student's work submission. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online no later than the deadline date.
