$500 or more provided annually, non-renewable. Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the university to be applied to tuition, fees, or other academic expenses.

The Astronomical Society of Kansas City Astronomy Scholarship Fund is provided annually to a student at the Department of Physics at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Students are not required to have junior standing, but they must have begun significant study of astronomy and must have completed a minimum of 6 semester hours of 300 and/or 400 level courses. The administration and management of this scholarship is provided through the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation. Originally founded in 1978, the GKCCF was designed to provide a single point of support and professional charity organization for various charitable organizations throughout the local area. Over the years, the scope of this mission has expanded to include grants, scholarships, and other philanthropic initiatives within Kansas City, throughout the Midwest, and even nation-wide.
