In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school student.
  2. Must reside in San Diego, Orange and Imperial Counties in California.

Description: The BBB Ambassador Scholarship is available for current high school students in San Diego, Orange and Imperial Counties of California. To participate, students must give a minimum of three public presentations using the scripts provided by the BBB.

Application requirements for the BBB Ambassador Scholarship are:

Additional Information: All students who complete a minimum of three presentations during the program period will receive an official BBB Ambassador certificate recognizing their contribution of volunteer time and dedication to spreading awareness of consumer issues. Scholarships are awarded to the students who reach the largest peer audience during their presentations. Students must present the prepared scripts exactly as written - edits and changes to the presentation are not allowed.

Award Amount: $2,500 for first place; $1,500 for second place; and $1,000 for third place. All scholarships are provided on a one-time basis and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,333.

Students may partipcate in the BBB Ambassador Program individually or as part of a team of up to three members. Each team member must submit an individual scholarship application and winning teams will split all listed prize amounts. Participants must give a minimum of three presentations during the period of September 1 to November 29. Presentation scripts are available at the BBB website and each presentation is prepared to inform the audience about becoming smart consumers who can recognize and avoid common frauds and scams. Scholarships will be awarded to the students and/or teams that have the highest audience count for their presentations, as verified by a teacher or other academic supervisor. Scholarship applications must be submitted no later than the deadline date.
